Meantime, voters unable to make it to the polls either on election day or early in Byford’s office have only 12 days to request and return their paper absentee ballot. The clerk’s office must have received those ballots by the close of business Nov. 1. However, emergency paper ballots can still be requested after Nov. 1, but generally only for those experiencing some sort of unexpected crisis between then and Election Day.
It is now too late for residents not already registered to apply for rights to vote in next month’s election.
For questions about polling locations or other election rules, Byford said it is best to call her office at 965-3403 now to find the answer.
Registered voters looking to change their party affiliation for next year's primary election for president and congressional and state representative should do so by the end of the year.
