Marion’s new wastewater treatment plant appears to be headed to Industrial Park North, but council members have not completely flushed the possibility of an alternative site. The city council met Monday evening, expecting to make a final decision on where to build the state-mandated sewer facility, but hit a snag with the potential purchase of several acres in the industrial park owned by Crittenden County Economic Development Corp. Council members did agree, however, to give Mayor Mickey Alexander the authority to sign a $1,000 option on the property if CCEDC agrees to sell the property for $5,000 an acre.
